I got a book the other day at the public library in their book sale (and it's brand new for only $2.00) about the 12 day manhunt for John Wilkes Booth after he shot President Lincoln. I have studied the Lincoln assassination for years and thought I knew pretty much all the facts, but this book really is an eye opener. Dr. Mudd was not the innocent dupe most history books have portrayed him to be. I am surprised that even the book "20 Days" gave the same traditional story line that Dr Mudd was simply helping a stranger who came calling at his house with a broken leg and helped him as his duty as a doctor. He not only knew Booth, he knew him quite well and lied to authorities when they came calling.

Apparently a movie has already been made about this book and I plan on seeing it when it comes out.

I didn't know you were a Lincoln mark. I'm somewhat into it, but my brother is big-time Lincoln and Kennedy (and especially their respective assassinations). I would like to read that book, especially if it's true that Mudd was not so innocent. Thanks for the heads-up...

Job search is narrowed down to a select few. Pretty certain I have landed the one I wanted, just waiting for the offer letter in the next day or so. In the meantime it has beena great month to be off! [img]cool.gif[/img]
